My UniPad are a specialist property company, who provide luxury student accommodation at locations across the UK. Our story began with them tasking us with revising and evolving the components of their existing visual identity. This new look needed to communicate the company as fresh, inspiring, and relevant to all target audiences.
Our intention was to create a marked contrast with the previous identity. Our creative team began with the idea generation of ‘action categories’. Each revolve around student lifestyle – ‘It’s not where we stay, it’s where we work / play / live‘. Each categories allowed us to formulate and concept flexible, customer-facing identities, which captured the essence of life at My UniPad and the subsequent rewarding experiences involved. Strong visual identities were then deployed through graphic systems that combined distinct geometric shapes with dynamic colour play.
The flexible visual identity system produced allowed us to craft and create using only colour and shape, maintaining awareness of the My UniPad brand name and offering. This approach allows viewers to categorise and understand brand offerings more coherently – almost cognitively. Corresponding colours and shape are now at the heart of their fun, youthful and bold brand – demonstrating a youth-centric brand with a contemporary look.
